Projects

transmutation

Water is seen as a majestic element, synonymous with life, purity and freedom, which is in continuous transmutation or transformation, caused by natural and anthropic effects, in a current world where the consequences of climate change show great consequences.

In this photography series, we can observe these facets and, likewise, understand the importance of caring for and preserving water and other natural resources necessary for the subsistence of human beings. For a society where economic growth and  that has left aside, environmental sustainability. (Ongoing project).

high mountain landscapes

High Mountain Landscapes is a documentary photo essay parallel to the "High Mountain" project, in which, based on the work of Erwin Kraus, a mountaineer and photographer who made records of the Colombian high mountains during the first half of the 20th century, I I have proposed rediscovering those scenarios and landscapes that still remain, which in turn, have been transformed either by nature itself or by human beings  in their intrinsic relationship, through the last decades, in order not only to bring them to memory, but also to highlight the importance of the high mountain ecosystems and geography of Colombia.  (2015)

Crystal spout.  A journey of color, light and shadows

Caño Cristales, located in the Serranía de la Macarena in Colombia, is one of those places that amaze for its magnificence and splendor, due to the red and green colors that come from the endemic aquatic plants, which are found in its different waterfalls, jets , wells and streams.

In the course of these pages, you will be able to observe the different colors, textures and contrasts that make up the various tributaries, waterfalls and ravines of Caño Cristales, as well as part of those contrasts found in the village of La Cachivera, in La Macarena, where the pipe is found. Rapa Nui, encounter with the past

Rapa Nui, encounter with the past, is a photographic project resulting from the trip to Easter Island (Rapa Nui), accompanied by great learning. Not only the archaeological remains, but the history, cultural, social and political features of the Rapa Nui culture, inhabitants of the island from Polynesia.

In this series of images I will show the vast landscapes of the island, which, despite being largely solitary and wild places due to its geographical conditions, will allow  see those traces that remain and still endure from the past of the Rapa Nui people, showing the  magnificence of its constructions, in which you will catch a glimpse of the cosmogony and close relationship of its ancient inhabitants with the natural and geographical space of the island.  (2016)

Journey through Bolivia

Every trip begins weeks or even months before its completion. This is how the journey through Bolivia began six months ago, with the planning, research and preparation of the necessary equipment for the trip. Bolivia being a country with many scenic and cultural attractions, we decided to visit the western part of the country, leaving the Amazon jungle and the landscapes of the Santa Cruz region for another future trip.

In these images, you can find the landscapes of the southern part of the country where the vast Salar de Uyuni reveals its majesty, both in terms of territory and fauna. The imposing Cordillera Real that crosses the country with its emblematic mountains, valleys and lagoons giving rise to unique landscapes. Sunsets and views of Lake Titicaca in the north of the country, thus reflecting different ecosystems and natural attractions that make up Bolivia. (2018)

High Colombia

The geography and high mountain ecosystems in Colombia are scenarios in continuous change, either by human beings or by nature, where relations of power, transformation and control are presented.

Reason why I have decided to capture in this photographic series,  the landscapes  of the Colombian high mountains, which are a living reflection of the interaction and metamorphosis  of natural elements and the hand of man. (Ongoing project).

stone paths

The Caminos de piedra series responds to the exploration of the vestiges that remain today of some of the bridle paths and royal roads that were of great importance in times of the conquest and colonization of Colombian territory, which emerged in many cases from pre-Hispanic trails.

Paths that marked not only the  communications and commerce, if not, the appropriation of the territory and of the natural scenarios for which  transited, which with the arrival of "modernity" and the construction of new communication channels were forgotten. (2014 - 2016)

Nocturnal

Text in progress. (Ongoing project).

bird watching

Colombia is one of the richest countries in biodiversity, in which around 1,900 species of birds can be observed throughout its territory. Therefore, I have decided to keep a record of those species that I am finding and that I can capture in their natural spaces through different trips in the  various regions of the country.  (Ongoing project).

twilights

The twilight series is born from the different trips and journeys through the Latin American and European territory where colors, light and shadows will play an important role in the landscapes, through the search and wait for the ideal moment, in where these three factors come together, to generate those fleeting moments, present in the landscapes, from the high mountains to the plains of the Orinoquía to the high tides in the sea.
